The graph below represents the viruses detected in 352 respiratory specimens submitted during the first two weeks of January. The results are represented as the percentage positive for each particular virus.

  • Rhinovirus was detected in 17.7% of specimens.
  • Adenovirus was detected in 10.6% of specimens.
  • RSV infections increased from 4.4% in the first week to 8.3% in the second week.
  • Enterovirus was detected in 8.9% of specimens during the first week.
  • PIV-3 was detected in 7.6% of specimens during the first week.
  • Bocavirus was detected in 7.6% of specimens during the first week.
  • Mycoplasma pneumoniae was detected in 5.1% of specimens during the first week.
